Services like ride-sharing and bike-sharing are transforming city travel, reducing the need for private vehicles. And let’s not forget about autonomous vehicles – they’re set to make our roads safer and more efficient. Public transport is also getting a makeover with electric buses and high-speed rail, which are crucial for reducing the carbon footprint. Lastly, integrating renewable energy into our transportation infrastructure is key for long-term sustainability.

How do you see these trends evolving over the next five to ten years?

Looking ahead, I believe electric vehicles will dominate across all vehicle types. Advancements in battery tech will make EVs more affordable and extend their range. Shared mobility will integrate seamlessly with public transit, offering convenient travel options and reducing our reliance on private cars. AI and data analytics will optimize these services, and electric vehicles will become the norm for shared mobility fleets. Autonomous vehicles will expand through pilot programs and clearer regulations, influencing urban planning for more pedestrian-friendly spaces. Public transport innovations will accelerate, and we’ll see more smart transit systems. Fast-charging networks powered by renewable energy will grow, supporting the increased use of Vehicle-to-Grid technology for energy resilience.

LexSWITCH has developed a 6 meters EV Bus and 11 meters EV bus for the Philippines Public Transport Modernization (PUV) program, innovations that underscore our commitment to advancing sustainable mobility by introducing electric vehicles that reduce carbon emissions, promote cleaner air quality, and contribute to quieter urban environments while offering efficient and reliable transportation solutions.

What are some key challenges LexSWITCH has faced in implementing these initiatives, and how have you overcome them?

One of our biggest hurdles was securing regulatory approvals and establishing a charging infrastructure in the Philippines. We tackled this by partnering with local authorities and investing in projects to showcase the benefits of our EV buses. Financial concerns were another challenge. By leveraging government subsidies and demonstrating the long-term cost savings of electric buses, we’ve been able to accelerate adoption in the market.

Our goals are ambitious but achievable. We aim to expand our electric bus fleet significantly to meet diverse market demands.
